A Really Nice Use of Video Technology

This is a really nice use of video technology by a missionary couple in South Africa (although they were missionaries to Malawi at the time this was filmed) – Joel and Amy Slater. Technical and organizational aspects of the video to which we all can aspire:

excellent visual quality
effective use of captions
appropriate background music introduced at the right time
content which is well organized and relevant
I saw some subtle signs that they were using a teleprompter, but it was not obvious at all

But beyond these more technical and organizational aspects, the most endearing quality of the video was the sense of partnership I had as I listened to the encouragement the Slaters were sharing with their supporters. If I were the pastor of a church or an individual supporting them, after watching their video I would definitely feel that they were a part of my ministry team and vice versa. And if I wasn’t supporting them, I would be thinking they are the type of partner I want.

I hope you are encouraged by the video as much as I was.

There are four basic ways to join a missionary team and participate in God's story of restoring the nations to Himself:

GO: You can physically join a missionary team "on the ground" in their geographical area of service. This can be in the form of a short-term trip (1-4 weeks), a longer stay (1-3 years), or a career commitment.
