Whether we find a way to help the Syrian refugees outside of our borders or within our neighborhoods, ours is the opportunity to make a difference in their lives. In the present tensions and climate of fear, the greater concern is not with terrorism as such, but with the Muslim agenda for the Islamization of the entire world. There is no rampart more effective against it than love, mercy, and compassion coupled with biblical truth and witness.

As followers of Christ, it is incumbent upon us to answer questions regarding terrorism and Muslim refugees from a biblical perspective, not from the effects of fleeting emotions such as angst and anger; not from cultural bias; not from conservative or liberal political perspectives, but from an understanding of the Scriptures and God’s heart for all people, even enemies.
Bringing in the Outcast
Henry was a “social leper” in our church – estranged and untouchable like the lepers of Israel. He came from a lifestyle that repelled most people. His opinion of himself had been devastated by his failures, so he struggled to find some sense of worth. He cried out for love with every action, every word, every little gesture. Desperate for love, he would do virtually anything for even the smallest hint that someone cared.
The U.S. Proposed Deal with Iran
It is the conviction of President Obama that the interests of America and its allies are best served by engaging, rather than isolating controversial regimes and nations such as North Korea, Cuba, Burma, and, currently, Iran. Those who support him would say that his proposed deal with Iran is the only option that will avert war. Those who disagree would say that his proposed deal ultimately speeds Iran on the road to becoming a nuclear power.
Should We Isolate Ourselves?
It’s all over the news: Christians discriminating and refusing services to homosexuals/lesbians. One of the more recent controversies involves a religious pediatrician who allegedly refuses to treat the baby of a lesbian couple in Michigan.
Effective Church Websites
We must aggressively seize the opportunity and establish an effective presence in the midst of today’s marketplace so that we can effectively declare the gospel to the internet generation. A church’s website in today’s postmodern world should primarily on creating opportunities for conversation and relationship (both online and offline) between believers and unbelievers.
