We must aggressively seize the opportunity and establish an effective presence in the midst of today’s marketplace so that we can effectively declare the gospel to the internet generation. A church’s website in today’s postmodern world should primarily on creating opportunities for conversation and relationship (both online and offline) between believers and unbelievers.
Today’s church is faced with a historic opportunity. The internet gives us the ability to present the gospel to untold millions of people who have never committed their lives to Christ. TCounty-based portals such as those described in this article effectively use the internet but also hold true to the Biblical principle of authentic Christian community as a foundation of outreach and evangelism.
There is an alternative approach to developing a church website which does not require an outside designer, does not need a fancy graphical appearance, and should also prove to be much more effective (in reaching the lost) than the typical church website.
